Robert J. Spencer

Robert Spencer has been practicing law in the Amherst area since 1992. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University and a Juris Doctor from Western New England College School of Law. He has been a partner of the firm since 2001.

He specializes in all forms of real estate law, including residential, commercial, and conservation. His client base is wide-ranging and includes the wide spectrum of residential and commercial buyers and sellers, local and regional land trusts, and state and local land acquisition agencies. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating all types of real estate agreements and documents, performing title examinations, issuing certificates of title and title insurance policies, and generating and reviewing loan documentation.

He serves as general counsel for the Kestrel Land Trust. He also performs legal services for the land acquisition agencies of the Commonwealth, including the Department of Agricultural Resources, the Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, and the Department of Dam Safety.
