Deborah T. Jankowski

Deborah T. Jankowski is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Western New England College School of Law. A former secondary school teacher, she also worked as a Consumer Protection Advocate in the Hampshire County District Attorneys Office before attending law school.  She has been a member of the firm since 1992 and a partner since 1996.

Attorney Jankowski specializes in estate planning, estate administration, and probate law. She has developed expertise in the drafting and use of trusts to protect the assets of her clients, including children and adults with special needs, elders seeking eligibility for MassHealth, and parents with minor and young adult children.  Attorney Jankowski frequently accepts appointment by the Probate Court to serve as guardian ad litem, and she also serves as guardian or trustee for clients in need of fiduciary services.

Attorney Jankowski has been active in a number of charitable organizations. She has served as Chair of the Hatfield Arts Lottery Council, President of the Board of Homesharing in Hampshire County, and President of the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce. Currently, she is President of the Board of Act Now, a local non-profit corporation for the benefit of adolescent girls, and she is President of the Friends of the Hampshire Law Library. Her interest in non-profit organizations has also influenced her practice; she has guided several local non-profits through the I.R.S. process to tax-exempt status, and has assisted others with incorporation, property transfers, and other corporate issues.

Professionally, Attorney Jankowski is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Pioneer Valley Estate Planning Council and the Hampshire County Bar Association.

She has been a member for many years of the Hampshire Choral Society.
